The blanket stitch was the first stitch I ever learned. Why in heavens name I didn't learn running stitch or back stitch first, I'll never know. But when I first learned this stitch I used it on everything: checkbook covers, bean bags, cuff bracelets, coasters... if it was fabric, I put a blanket stitch on it. Crazy blanket stitching fool. I have no doubt if you learn it you will be a crazy, blanket stitching fool too. It's nifty like that.
